Ms.
Jenilee Reid
(Curriculum Coordinator)
Considered to be one of the top mentors by many Tong Il Lo students, Ms. Jenilee Reid began her martial art training under Grandmaster McDonald in 1993 (before the creation of Tong Il Lo). Progressing through the ranks, she traveled throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth area learning & assisting Grandmaster McDonald in his instruction of Self Defense/Anti-Kidnapping classes for children.
Being a leader, in nature, has helped her achieve much recognition. It was in 1996, she received the "Leadership Award" for dedicating time in bettering the skill levels of her subordinates. Through the extensive development of her martial skills, Ms. Reid has taken on the responsibility of helping better the lives of others and began teaching Tong Il Lo to the public in 1999.
As a result, Ms. Reid has inspired hundreds of students through her teachings and currently instructs Tong Il Lo classes in several Texas cities. In addition, she not only pilots her students, in victory, in a number of competitions around the Texas area, she also has directed successful tournaments and other martial art events.
In 2004, the Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame honored Ms. Reid with a Certificate of Recognition for displaying the outstanding accomplishments she has attained. Receiving these awards at such an early state in her profession is quite rare, as she states, "My goal is to one day master Tong Il Lo as well as many other styles of the martial arts. Also, to help others find confidence and safety in today's world. Knowing that what I teach others can one day save their own life, if not someone else's, enables me to feel confident that my students will be safe from the violence that's in the world today.“
